Worse than my alcohol withdrawals

My world told me marijuana is not addictive. It made weed seem harmless, medicinal, and claimed that you can’t have physical withdrawals from it.

After giving up alcohol, I got addicted to weed and eventually quit that too and the withdrawals were ridiculous, very similar to what I’ve seen from hard drug withdrawals.

Here’s a quick summary of my symptoms which lasted 1–2 weeks:

  • cold and overheated at the same time, shivering, 24/7 clammy hands, very sweaty all the time, and intense body odor like I was going through puberty again
  • irregular heartbeat. Racing, pounding, skipping beats, waking up shaking and crying because my heart won’t relax
  • hands trembling, body shaking, muscle aches and tension, back pain, weakness and fatigue in muscles
  • extreme thirst. Just like, so freaking thirsty all the time
  • nausea, hungry and vommity at the same time even when the food looks delicious so I had to force myself to eat and not throw up
  • extreme anxiety and irritability and inability to control my emotions, extreme mood swings, and rage
  • insomnia, headaches, rapid weight loss
